my phonee:lost and found and never again
i nearly lost my phone ytd. it was a real scare. many things were running through my mind as me and den rushed back to national library in bugis on cab. like, contacts can be retrieved again through friendster, msn and stuff like that. photos, luckily i've always upload to the comp frequently. but. i can't lose my phone. i cant lose my phone. i've never close to nearly lose my phone and this time i have to lose it. not this time. it's samsung D820. i imagined not being able to type my messages on the keypad anymore, something i don't particularly like about the phone but still alright with it. now that i have it with me it's such a blessing to just be able to message again with my phone. oh god. here's what happened:
me and den went to national library cause he wants to borrow more books and comics for his stay-in period at home starting this coming wed. and i've never been there. eventually i found barry trotter series and settled down on a black(note) seat at a corner to start reading. my phone is beside me. then when we decided to leave we took ALL books EXCEPT my phone. why? cause it blended well with the seat. !@#$%^&*
then we took bus to cityhall...spent a great deal of time in the candy shop in millenium walk, took the escalator then i told den,"eh check if sipei got msg me.." thank goodness i still check my phone once in a while! den always pretends that he cant find my stuff in his bag..at the moment when he checked his pockets and his bag, how i wished he'll just fish out my phone any moment! then he started emptying his bag. oh gosh.. it was how scary. then he called my phone and it was off. off!! what could that mean?! he was so sure it could only mean one thing. it wasn't comforting at all. but as long as we haven check with the library all hopes are not lost. to me.
we flagged a cab after quite some time, during which was torturous. when on the cab, den keeps telling me to phone my dad and tell him to cancel the line. for what?! we haven even checked the library. he's so pessimistic. luckily i hadn't headed his advice. or else i'll not only have to go through the phonecalls to singtel telling them not to cancel, i'll also have to listen to all the naggings. then i remembered what avee told me once, that God has many saints. one of them helps us to find something we lose if we pray to him. and it worked. but i forgot what is the saint's name. so i just prayed without calling a name.
when we rushed back, den went to get the security guard walking around, a nice uncle, while i went to the seat. and thank goodness i was looking around when i was in the library. it really pays to be observant to our surroundings. i saw a singh in his 30, the kind without turban still sitting opposite the seat reading like how he was when we left. then i asked if he remembers me, he said yes! he saw my phone..and a light green shirt girl picked it up. the security guard pointed to a librarian wearing light green shirt and then we went to the counter which is also a lost and found. the librarian at the counter, who seemed to be in charge said she received no samsung phone. another scare! but the nice uncle assured us the phone is found since a librarian picked it up. then after some waiting, i finally see my phone coming out from the resticted room in the library. with the big doors opening from the centre, it kinda resembled a hospital operation ward. =/
then the auntie told the librarians, a few of them who knew about the phone, next time put it at the counter. now the question to me is, were they trying to keep it for themselves? they off it for goodness sake. and the singh said the librarian picked my phone up after a short while. and me and den didnt leave the library immediately. we went to borrow the books, took our time to walk, took the lift up and went to this outdoor courtyard. whatever it is, im still glad the librarian picked it up, not some despicable rogue who will just throw the sim card away and sell my baby phone away. what a day.
