birthday dinner and the princess
Happy Birthday PIGGIE!
yesterday was sipei's birthday! we're turning 19..omg omg. how fast...once again 4 of us gathered and we remarked on how fast time flies. we're going U, jc seems far away and st nix even further. we stood at the esplanade roof terrace, looking out to the riverside. and there was a strange looking crane machine in the water that looked like it's doing land reclaimation work. then we laughed at the prospect of land reclaimation in the middle of nowhere. how silly...somehow i always feel silly and love saying stupid things that will make people laugh when i'm with them. it's only them. but it makes me happy. haha. don't know about them.
we ate at thai express. the curry taste familiar but i can't put my finger to it. nonetheless it's still very satisfying. and did i mention that the birthday girl looked gorgeous yesterday? the 'nourishment' of love. haha. i was horrified when i saw that she was wearing a pair of slippers we got for her for birthday! then we went back VNC to change to another pair. it's so pretty! when sipei got it she said it looks like cinderella shoes. VNC rocks. their shoes are pretty and comfy!! she 'unwrapped' the presents under a spotlight in the roof terrace. she was so delighted! heh. the bag she wanted and an oh-so-pretty pair of half-wedge. so princessy looking. we talked about uni...the uncertain and undecided future. what our ambitions are. and if it was possible that we'll gather there one day in the future with our career established and looked back at the every stages of our lives we've been through together. it's remarkable. all sipei, eve and shufang had asked me one by one if i really want banking and finance. it sounds so un-me. i don't know. but i know i want to be able to climb high, make it big. whether working in companies or starting a business. but i don't know if im cut out for the harsh world. my mum said someone studying bnf in SIM already secured a job in a bank and the starting pay is 4000! omg...but of course she must be some top student. on the other hand, sipei doesn't want to put herself in offices and make her life all just about climbing the hierarchy. she said it's a big world out there. true. shufang gazed at the many banks' skyscrappers against the clear starlit night sky, and wondered if she'll one day sit at the top floors. eve, she only wants to open a chocolate shop. hahah. how fairytale-like.
